Posted: 22 Maj 2001 23:04:32 There were many combats indeed but do also bear in mind that according to directives given by Polish Army Headquarters Polish troops were ordered no to initiate fights until having been attacked by the Russians. Some troops did not follow these orders, some other just did not receive them at the due time, but the Poles were quite surprised by the Russian unexpected assault and therefore the army tried not to inflamate the whole situation till the purpouse of Soviet invasion became evident and resisted fighting as long as possible. |
